Maddie Jacks
Maddie Jacks is a senior at Newton North. She is the founder of this site and initiator of this project. Her mission is to investigate what makes humanitarian engineering successful and how this information can be useful in creating solutions to known problems.

Janice Miller
Ms. Miller is a CAPS advisor. She consults on research, organization, and the research paper writing process. She has been incredibly helpful in providing advice, guidance, and support throughout the CAPS process.
Tim Finnegan
Mr. Finnegan is an English teacher at Newton North and has been a CAPS coordinator since the program's origination. He co-teaches the CAPS class and advises individual students on their projects.
Stephen Chinosi
Mr. Chinosi teaches Newton North's Green-gineering class and co-teaches the CAPS class with Mr. Finnegan. North's Greengineers program is leading the country in innovative educational opportunities. The Greengineers are utilizing Design-Thinking principles to create a collaborative think-tank that combines Chemistry, Engineering, Physics, Economics, Finance, Design, and Industrial Safety.
About CAPS
Newton North High School's Capstone Research program is an opportunity for seniors to pursue a specific topic of interest through field work and research. The work done during the semester culminates in a presentation and research paper, both of which can be found on the website.
